$0.5m Kazakhstan aids for Rohingyas

The Government of Kazakhstan has allocated 0.50 million US dollars as humanitarian aid to Rohingya refugees who have taken shelter in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.

Mr. Barlybay Sadykov, ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, inaugurated the distribution of humanitarian aid through Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TIKA) recently.

The ambassador started the distribution programme while visiting the Rohingya people who have been living in Bangladesh after fleeing ethnic violence in the Rakhine State of Myanmar.

He went around different sections, interacted with inhabitants of the camp and appraised himself of the situation firsthand, says a media release.

Mushfique Manzoor, Head of Chancery of Honorary Consulate of Republic of Kazakhstan in Dhaka, accompanied him during the visit.
