Judges’ conduct rules not to affect judiciary: Anisul

Law Minister Anisul Huq on Tuesday said the freedom of the Judiciary will not be affected by the disciplinary rules of lower court judges.

The minister came up with the remarks while addressing as the the inaugural ceremony of 19th training course for the government prosecutors and public prosecutors at the Judicial Administration Training Institute.

According to the section 29 (2) of the discipline and conduct rules, if any disagreement is arisen between the President and the Supreme Court over any issue and matter is not solved, then Supreme Court's suggestion will be granted finally, said Anisul.

"So, the freedom of the Judiciary will not be affected by the discipline and conduct rules," he added.

According to UNB, the gazette was issued in the light of section 116 of the Constitution in consultation with the President and the Judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, Anisul said.
