JS body for scrapping MCQs in public exams

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Sunday suggested the authorities concerned to discard the multiple choice question (MCQ) answering system in the examinations and find out an alternative way to stop question paper leaks.

The committee in its 44th meeting at parliamentary secretariat also asked the ministry concerned to ensure the overall quality education at primary level with bringing qualitative change in preparing question papers for the examinees, according to an official release.

Committee Chairman Md Motahar Hossain presided over the meeting and discussed different aspects of question paper leaks.

The meeting was told that teachers would impart the necessary trainings based on the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as part of government's steps in building a 'Digital Bangladesh'.

The meeting also discussed different issues specially the government's initiatives to nationalise the primary schools across the country.

Among others, Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman, M Nazrul Islam Babu, M Abul Kalam, Ali Azam, Mohammad Ilias and Umme Razia Kajol attended the meeting, reports BSS.
