Journo Reazuddin's 1st death anniversary today

Today (Sunday) is the first death anniversary of veteran journalist Reazuddin Ahmed.

He passed away on December 25 of 2021 at the age of 77.

Reazuddin Ahmed was the founding Chief Editor of the Financial Express, and was the founder editor and publisher of the News Today and the Financial Herald.

Starting his career as journalist, he joined the then Pakistan Observer in 1968 and also worked for the Daily Star and now-defunct The Daily Telegraph.

He was the president of the National Press Club for four terms and served twice as president of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ).

Reaz Uddin was the chairperson of South-Asia Free Media Association (SAFMA) and member of Bangladesh Press Council.

Throughout his career, he championed freedom of the press and the rights of journalists, and made invaluable contribution to democratic movements.

He received the prestigious Ekushey Padak in 1993 for his outstanding contribution to journalism.

Reazuddin Ahmed was born on November 30, 1945 in Manohardi of Narsingdi.

On the occasion of the first death anniversary, his son economist Dr Masrur Reaz on behalf of the deceased's family has solicited everyone's prayers for the eternal peace of Reazuddin Ahmed's departed soul.
