Young journalist Mamunur Rashid has passed away at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in the capital on Monday night.
Mamunur Rashid, a senior reporter of Ekushey TV covering the Prime Minister's beat, was undergoing treatment at the NICVD. He breathed his last around11:30 pm, his colleagues said.
He was a student of Dhaka University's Mass Communication and Journalism department (2003-04 session), reports UNB.
The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the senior reporter. She prayed for the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Ekushey TV's Chief Executive Officer and Chief Editor Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Chief News Editor Zahidul Islam, senior officials and journalists expressed deep shock at his death.
