Journalist M Kamal Uddin passes away

Prominent Journalist M Kamal Uddin has passed away aged around 62.

He breathed his last at 6:15 am on Wednesday at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. M Kamal was suffering from lung cancer.

The noted journalist was currently senior editorial assistant of Bangla Daily Kaler Kantha.

He was a permanent member of Jatiya Press Club (JPC).

Jatiya Press Club President Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and general secretary Farida Yasmin expressed profound shock at his death.

M Kamal left behind his wife, son, daughter and many relatives, friends and well-wishers to mourn his death.

He started journalism career with Daily Kalbela.

He also worked in various media houses including daily Janakantha, Bangladesh Observer and Daily Amar Desh.

The journalist’s first Namaz-e-janaza has been held at the JPC premises and the second one on the premises of East West Media Group complex in Bashundhara residential area.

He will be buried at the Mirpur Shahid Intellectuals graveyard, reports UNB.
