Jamdani fair kicked off in the city on Tuesday at the National Museum aimed at reviving and expanding the dying sector.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu inaugurated the 10-day exhibition as the chief guest.
Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation organised the exposition.
BSCIC chairman Mustak Hassan Md Iftekhar presided over the function.
State Minister for Textiles and Jute Mirza Azam was also attended the event as the special guest.
Various types of Jamdani sarees, including Tersa, Jolpar, Pannahajar, Korola, Dublajal, Saburga, Bolihar, Shaplaphul, Angurlota, Moyurpachpar, Baghnoli, Kolmilota, Chandrapar and Jhumka, will be showcased in the stalls at the fair.
