IPL arranges doa mahfil for FE editor

A doa mahfil seeking salvation of the departed soul of founding editor of The Financial Express AHM Moazzem Hossain was held at the newspaper office after Asr prayers on Tuesday.

International Publications Limited (IPL), the owning company of The FE, organised the doa mahfil after the 131st meeting of its board of directors.

IPL Chairman Mahbubur Rahman, directors Syed Manzur Elahi, Zakiuddin Ahmed, Afroz Rahim, Syed Nasim Manzur, Rizwan-ur Rahman, Farah Anjum Bari and Mohammad A Awwal attended it.

Among the shareholders, Abu Alam Chowdhury, Reazuddin Ahmed, Obaidur Rahman, Rashed Maksud Khan and Mir Nasir Hossain participated in the doa.

Zahida Ispahani, wife of former Managing Director of IPL Mirza Ali Behrouze Ispahani, Acting Editor Shahiduzzaman Khan and journalists and employees of The FE also attended it.

Fahim Hossain and Dr Abu Sayeed, son and son-in-law respectively of late Moazzem Hossain were also present on behalf of the bereaved family members of the late FE Editor.

FE Editor Moazzem Hossain died at Square Hospital in the city on August 01 at the age of 72. He had been the Editor of the country's lone financial daily since its inception in 1993. He was also Managing Director of IPL at the time of his death.

Under his leadership, The Financial Express has earned the reputation as a leading business English daily in the country.
