An infant drowned in a pond at Horaiteka village under Bahubol upazila in Habiganj on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Reduan, 2, son of Shajid Mia of the village.
Locals said Reduan drowned around 11:00am when he was playing with others children beside the pond.
People rescued him and taken to Bahubol Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared Reduan dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bahubol Thana Mashuk Mia confirmed the incident, reports BSS.
