India arrests yet another Bangladeshi for terror links

Indian police have arrested one more Bangladeshi for alleged links with two suspected members of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), a militant outfit based in Bangladesh.

Two members of the militant outfit were arrested from Kolkata city on Tuesday, reports English language daily The Hindu.

“Md Sahadat Hossain alias Babu (26) was arrested from Sealdah on Friday. He helped the two ABT members in crossing the border and took them to Hyderabad,” a senior police official said.

On Tuesday, the police arrested Riazul Islam alias Riyaz alias Sumon (25), Samsad Mia alias Tanvir alias Tushar (26), both of whom are Bangladeshi nationals, and

Monotosh De alias Mona Da (46), a resident of Bashirhat in North 24 Paraganas district, from the Kolkata railway station.

Police said the two have confessed that they were staying in India for one and half years and illegally entered the country.

According to the police, De, an Indian citizen, is an arms dealer. The three have been remanded in police custody till December 5 by a city court earlier this week.
