Late US Senator Edward M Kennedy's son Ted Kennedy Jr and his family members are on a seven-day visit to Bangladesh from Oct 30 to Nov 5 to join the yearlong celebration of the 50th anniversary of US-Bangladesh relations.
On the first day of their visit, according to the US Embassy in Dhaka, US Ambassador in Dhaka Peter Haas, and members of the Kennedy family met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to reflect on 50 years of friendship between the US and Bangladesh, acknowledging the late Senator’s contributions in forging people-to-people ties between the two countries.
The same day, Ted Kennedy Jr and his family members explored Old Dhaka’s rich culture while riding rickshaws and stopped at the historic Lalbagh Fort.
