Expressing concern over the dengue outbreak and its resultant panic in the country, the High Court has asked the relevant authorities to import effective Aedes mosquito repellents within a week.
The bench of Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Md Sohrowardi passed the order while hearing a suo moto rule on the same issue today.
The court also asked the chief health officials of the bifurcated Dhaka city corporations to tell it by 2:00pm how they are going to import the mosquito repellents by the time it set for them, local media reports say.
Earlier on July 22, the court summoned them to appear before it this day and inform steps on the prevention of any outbreak of mosquito-borne diseases, including dengue, in the capital.
