A team leader of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) left Bangladesh following a government order.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) earlier asked the official to leave the country by Monday for not allowing government officials into a makeshift hospital in Bandarban, run by IFRC, to visit wounded Rohingya citizen.
Sources said, the IFRC official, Nuan Hinggs, left Bangladesh on Monday morning. She was the team leader of the field-based mission training and a trained nurse.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Cox's Bazar district's Ukhiya Md Nikaruzzaman Chowdhury said the incident took place on January 12 when four Rohingyas were killed in a fire at the Ghumdum transit camp in Bandarban district area.
According to bdnews24, the upazila administrators along with local police officers went to see them at the makeshift hospital. But the IFRC team leader did not let them see the wounded.
The upazila administration informed the district administration about it, following which the foreign ministry took the decision.
