ICMAB holds CPD prog on ‘Impact of Covid-19 and the Bangladesh Economy going forward’

Chattogram Branch Council of The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) on Sunday organised a webinar CPD on ‘Impact of Covid-19 and the Bangladesh Economy going forward’.

Muhibul Hassan Chowdhoury M.P, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education, joined in the webinar as the Chief Guest, says a media release.

At his speech, the Deputy Minister praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her proper and prompt steps and actions fighting against coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.   

Professional accountants can play a vital role to maintain transparency and accountability in public and private sector for attaining sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh, he said.

Mr. Chowdhury thanked the CBC for arranging such a timely suited programme.

He assured that he will also provide his all-out support fighting against corruption.

A k M Delwer Hussain FCMA, Vice President, South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) joined the webinar as special guest.

Imtiaz Alam FCA, FCMA, Member, National Council of the ICMAB, moderated the programme while Jasim Uddin akond, FCMA, President, ICMA Bangladesh and Anisuzzman FCA, FCMA, Chairman, Chattogram Brnach Council, ICMAB joined as panelists.

Md. Anisuzzman FCA, FCMA, Chairman, CBC presided over the webinar and address of welcome given by him.

President ICMAB Mr. Jasim Uddin akond FCMA & SAFA Vice-president, A. k. M. Delwer Hussain FCMA requested to the Deputy Education Minister to take necessary steps for implementing Cost Audit in Public & Private Sectors that helps government cost control & cost effectiveness and also helps to attain sustainable development goals (SDGs) for Bangladesh and to achieve target of becoming middle income country by 2041.

Masud khan FCA, FCMA, Chairman, Glaxo Smith Kline (BD), Ltd. presented his key note paper by mentioning upcoming challenges and opportunities for Bangladesh economic development.

A large number of Fellow & Associate members and students of ICMA Bangladesh joined in the webinar. The vote of thanks to the audience was offered by Mr. Shahidul Hoque FCMA, Secretary, CBC.
