Hybrid cars will be cheaper in the next fiscal year as the government has decided to reduce the supplementary duty considering energy efficient and environment-friendly means of transport.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith proposed the reduction of Supplementary Duty (SD) on importation of 1600-1800 cc hybrid motor cars from 45 per cent to 20 per cent while placing the national budget in Parliament on Thursday, reports UNB.
"This rate of duties will also applicable for electric motor cars," he said.
Muhith, however, proposed to reduce the depreciation of import of the reconditioned cars by 5.0 per cent.
