A housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan of her house at Gumanmardan in Hathazari upazila of Chattrogram on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Sultana Parvin Moni, 24, wife of Md Khorshed, an expatriate.
Belal Uddin Jahangir, officer-in-charge of Hathazari Model Police Station, said being informed by locals police recovered the hanging body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital around 10:30pm, UNB reported.
Police suspected that the mother of two children might have committed suicide over family feud.
