A housewife was found dead at her house in Tongi's Pagar area in Gazipur in the early hours of Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Nurjahan Begum, wife of Zahirul Islam of Chatkhil upazila in Noakhali district.
Nurjahan, Zahir's second wife, lived with him in the area since they got married a year ago, police said.
Locals informed police after finding the woman's body at around 1am, said Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Tongi Police Station.
Police recovered the body and sent it to a local hospital for autopsy, UNB reported.
The victim's brother claimed that Zahirul and his first wife had murdered Nurjahan.
Police arrested Zahirul, his first wife and an employee of his shop for interrogation.
