Household gas crisis has acutely hit different areas of Dhaka city due to the damage to the gas feeder pipeline in Savar.
Residents in Mohakhali, Mirpur, Lalmatia, Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, Jigatola, Hazaribagh and Kalabagan have failed to cook their meals since this morning when the feeder line leaked during the roadworks by the Roads and Highways Department.
The repairing work is underway to fix the line, said an official of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company.
The gas supply may be normal by the afternoon, said the official seeking anonymity as he was not authorised to speak to the media on this issue.
A resident in Dhanmondi told The Financial Express that she could not cook food in the morning due to the poor gas pressure.
The supply was not normal until now, 12:30pm, she said.
