High Court expresses shock over Rajib’s death

The High Court has expressed shock over tragic death of college student Rajib Hossain whose right hand was lost after being pressed between two buses in the city.

An HC bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice AKM Zahirul Hoque expressed the shock during a rule hearing on compensation, reports UNB.

The HC will deliver an order to give compensation to Rajib's family after his maternal aunt Jahanara Parvin appears before court on Tuesday, said the petitioner lawyer Ruhul Kuddus Kajol.

On April 4, the court issued the rule asking the authorities concerned to explain as to why directives should not be given to provide Tk 10 million as compensation to Rajib Hasan.

Rajib Hossain, who lost his right hand after it got stuck between two buses at Bangla Motor area on April 4, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 17.
