HC turns down writ challenging legality of holding posts by MPs

The High Court has turned down a writ filed challenging the legality of holding posts by members of the 11th parliament.

The bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil passed the order on Monday.

Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon stood for the petitioner while deputy attorney general Mukhlesur Rahman for the state, according to UNB.

Earlier on February 6, the High Court set February 18 (today) to pass its order on the writ.

Supreme Court lawyer Tawhidul Islam filed the writ on January 20 last.
