The High Court on Monday wanted to know from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) as to why the agency was not arresting former central bank deputy governor SK Sur Chowdhury and its incumbent executive director (ED) Shah Alam. Two close associates of PK Halder revealed their names in the confessional statements.
The court also wanted to know what steps were taken against the duo.
The ACC was asked to comply and the court set April 06 for further hearing.
The High Court bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Mohi Uddin Shamim passed the order after holding hearing on a suo moto (voluntary move) ruling issued in this connection.
During the hearing, the court also said if the ACC does not take any step to nab them then the court will deliver an arrest order.
The court granted seven weeks to the Bangladesh Bank for submitting the names of the responsible officials who were involved with the financial scams.
