HC orders to appoint 43 vacant posts of DGHS

The High Court (HC) has ordered authorities concerned to complete the appointment of 43 against vacant posts of health assistants, computer operators, and storekeepers in nine districts under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A High Court division bench of Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Muhammad Mahbub Ul Islam passed the order on Wednesday after holding a hearing on a writ petition filed in this regard.

The court asked authorities concerned to execute the order within 90 days, reports BSS.

"The 43 petitioners had taken part in the recruitment test following an advertisement for the appointment in 2012. In spite of passing the written and viva voce exams successfully, the concerned authorities did not give them the appointment letters, instead, appointed others through corruption, making my clients to file the writ," petitioners' lawyer Advocate Salauddin Dolon said.

The High Court in 2019 had issued a rule, asking the authorities to appoint the 43 petitioners. It came up with today's order after holding a final hearing on the matter.
