The High Court (HC) on Thursday ordered authorities concerned to submit list of Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and Coronary Care Units (CCUs) of all the hospitals and clinics across the country.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam passed the order after holding hearing on a writ petition filed in this regard.
The court also asked health secretary and director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to submit report on how much money is required to establish an ICU and CCU by April 24.
The High Court on February 19 had ordered to submit report on progress made on formulating policy as per ‘The Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories (regulation) Ordinance-1982’. Following the order, the health ministry on March 4 submitted its report.
The health ministry in its report said following court’s order, it has formed a five-member committee headed by additional secretary of the ministry. The committee has formulated a draft policy, which was submitted before the court, reports BSS.
