The High Court on Thursday directed the government to stop the production and also use of hydraulic horns of vehicles around school, college and hospital areas.
The HC bench of Justices Kazi Rezaul Haque and Mohammad Ullah passed the order.
A 20kmph speed limit has been imposed on residential and VIP areas of Dhaka city after 10:00pm, sources said.
The secretary to the home affairs and the inspector general of police (IGP) will instruct their subordinates for further the directives, sources added.
Earlier, on August 23, the HC directed the government to stop using hydraulic horns of vehicles in Dhaka city within 48 hours.
It also directed the authorities concerned to seize the horns available in local markets.
