HC asks JP leader Ruhul to surrender before court within four weeks

The High Court on Monday asked the Jatiya Party leader ABM Ruhul Amin Hawladar to surrender before the judicial court within four weeks in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for embezzling Tk 40,643 from the state fund.

The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order after hearing a petition, reports UNB.

On December 6, 2021, a Dhaka court acquitted Ruhul in the case.

Later, ACC filed an appeal challenging the lower court judgment.

In 1989, the then ACC filed a graft case against the former minister for misappropriating Tk 40,643.
