Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the British queen’s Dinner at Buckingham Palace in London on Thursday night.

Hasina’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told the press on Friday she exchanged greetings with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles during the banquet on Thursday night.

The queen hosted the dinner for the Commonwealth heads of government. She inaugurated the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting earlier in the morning.

The prime minister attended different sessions of the meeting on Thursday and Friday, reports bdnews24.

The queen, who celebrates her 92nd birthday on Saturday, had made clear her preference for Prince Charles to succeed her as the head of the Commonwealth in her opening speech at the CHOGM.

The Commonwealth leaders later in a statement announced their approval of Charles, 69, the Prince of Wales, as their head.

In her speech at the CHOGM, Hasina appreciated Queen Elizabeth II, who saw the Association grow six-fold in nearly seven decades.
