An elderly man was killed in hailstorm in Satkhira while another man died in a lightning strike in Brahmanbaria on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Zamshed Ali, 70, resident of Khashpur village in Kolaroa Upazila of Satkhira, and Shamsul Alam, 32, hailing from Chhoygaon village in Barhatta Upazila of Brahmanbaria.
Zamshed was hit by a volley of hails after being caught in a hailstorm. He died on the spot, said Kolaroa Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Moniruzzaman, reports UNB.
Shamsul was severely injured after being struck by lightning while working in the field at Bongoj village, said Akhaura Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Ariful Amin.
He was taken to Akhaura Upazila Health Complex where doctors pronounced him dead.
