A Habiganj court has sentenced 10 people to death for killing a farmer at Baghjur village under Baniachong upazila of the district in 2001.
Ali and his accomplices later hacked Razzak to death with sharp weapons near his home.
Habiganj’s District and Sessions Judge Mafruza Parvin handed down to the verdict on Wednesday with all but three of the convicts in the dock.
Bdnews 24 said the death-row convicts are Ramiz Ali, Tarik Ullah, Abdur Rahman, Abdul Mannan, Bachchu Mia, Abdus Salam, Yousuf Ullah, Abdul Motaleb, Abdul Hannan and Nasim Ullah.
Of them, Rahman, Salam and Hannan were tried as fugitives. The court also fined the convicts Tk 10,000 each.
Ten others have been acquitted, as the charges against them were not proven beyond doubt.
