Being tipped off that a big consignment of Yaba was coming from Cox's Bazar, a team of RAB set up a check post in the area around 4:00 am.

Over suspicious movement, the members of the elite force signalled a truck to stop at the check post around 5:00 am.

Denying the order, the Yaba traders opened fire on them from inside the truck, prompting RAB members to retaliate, triggering the 'gunfight'.

The elite force also recovered Yaba, a foreign pistol and several rounds of bullet from the spot.
