Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Thursday said examinations will be cancelled as soon as it is proved that the question papers were leaked.

The minister made the warning while talking to reporters after a visit to the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination centre at Government Laboratory High School in the city.

"We hope that no question papers will be leaked in this year. We are doing everything which is possible for a human being to prevent the question paper leak, "said Nahid.

The minister requested guardians and teachers not to involve in purchasing question papers.

"We are in high risks as the exams are being held with unified question papers across the country. We want to complete the examinations in a fair way. Tough measures will be taken against people behind question leak. The people responsible for the question paper leaks will not be spared as well," he said.

According to UNB the SSC and its equivalent examinations of 2018 began on Thursday across the country.
