Govt to give out ‘Land Service Award’

The government has decided to give 'Land Service Award' to the field level public servants in the land office in recognition of their special contribution in providing transparent, efficient, pro-people and accountable land service to the customers every year - from now on.  

Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, in a preparatory meeting of the ministry before the commencement of Land Service Week 2022, said regarding land service award that internal competition has been created in the land ministry and its departments/agencies due to set out of performance monitoring.  

As necessary measures are being taken quickly regarding those who are not able to do good work in the public interest, it is imperative to recognise those who are doing good work as well, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Land. 

Recipients of the Land Service Prize this time in Land Service Week 2022 at the district level in the management department are 63 Assistant Commissioners (Land), 44 Kanungos, 53 Surveyors, 58 Union Land Assistant Officers, and 58 Union Land Sub-Assistant Officers respectively.  

Eight Assistant Commissioners (Lands) received the Land Service Award 2022 at the divisional level in the management department.  

The best assistant commissioners (land) at the divisional level are selected from among the best assistant commissioners (land) in the district.  

It is to be noted that divisional level awards were not given in the posts other than Assistant Commissioner (Land).  

Recipients of the Land Service Award this time in Land Service Week 2022 at the district level in the Settlement / Survey department are 16 Assistant Settlement Officers, 17 Deputy Assistant Settlement Officers, and 17 Settlement Surveyors respectively.  

One Zonal Settlement Officer and 2 Charge Officers Jointly received Land Service Award 2022 at the national level. It is to be noted that national-level awards were not given in the posts other than Zonal Settlement Officer and Charge Officer.  

Under the direct supervision of Land Secretary Md. Mostafizur Rahman PAA, a policy has been prepared for the award this time. Transparency and impartiality have been given utmost importance in the policy for screening deserving candidates for the award. The final assessment is done through the land administration management system digitally based on the evaluation of the higher authorities of the concerned public servant. Special algorithms are followed to verify abnormal deviations in the evaluation.  

The concerned award-winning officers have been evaluated based on conducting survey work using new technology, expeditious disposal of appeal cases, recovery of public and private property, efficiently conducting survey work and above all working diligently to provide efficient, transparent, accountable and pro-people land services, etc.
