Govt to continue flood victims' aid for three more months

Flood victims' aid to continue till January

Flood victims in six districts of haor areas will get food support from the government for three more months.

The Disaster Management Department will provide 30 kilograms of rice for each flood-affected family from November to January.

The support will go to 168,000 families in Sunamganj, 55,000 in Sylhet, 58,000 in Netrokona, 65,000 in Kishoreganj, 29,000 in Habiganj and 5,000 in Moulvibazar.

Sunamganj will get 15,120 tonnes of rice, Sylhet 4,950 tonnes, Netrokona 5,220 tonnes, Kishoreganj 5,850 tonnes, Habiganj 2,6010 tonnes and Moulvibazar 450 tonnes.

The government has allocated a total of 34,200 metric tonnes for 380,000 affected families in this round of aid from November to January, according to a bdnews24.com report on Monday.

Deputy Commissioners will distribute the rice at union and ward levels.
