The government has taken initiatives to set up an international standard 'Bangabandhu National Labor Institute' aiming to increase the industrial production of the country.

The institute will be constructed between January 2022 and 2024 at the site of the current industrial relations academy (Shilpa Somporko Shikkhayoton) in Tongi, outskirts of the capital Dhaka, officials said.

The government will build the institute aiming to increase the industrial production through amicable relations between the workers and the employers of the country, said Director General (Additional Secretary) of the Department of Labour Goutom Kumar, reports BSS.

Meanwhile, State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Munnujan Sufian said that alongside setting up the international standard national labour institute, several projects would be taken for the betterment of the labours in the days to come.
