The government provided 547 landless families with ghas land of the district on Wednesday.
Local Lawmaker Alhaj M Makbul Hossain handed over the documents of the land to the landless families on the occasion of the first death anniversary of Khasland Movement leader Freedom Fighter Ataur Rahman Rana Master at the Chatmohor upazila Shaheed Minar premises as the chief guest.
Landless leader Akkas Ali presided over the function. Chatmohor upazila chairman Hasadul islam Hira, upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad commander Gazi SM Mojharul Haque and general secretary of the upazila Awami League Abdul Malek were present in the land distribution ceremony, among others, reports BSS.
Later, a memorial meeting and a doa mahafil were also held on the occasion.
