Govt offers Tk 0.5m bounty on question leakers

The government has declared a reward of Tk 500,000 each for identifying and handing over to the authorities the perpetrators who leaked the questions of SSC and equivalent exams on social media sites.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid came up with the announcement while briefing reporters after an emergency meeting with the national monitoring committee on law and order at the ministry on the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations on Sunday.

Meanwhile, an 11-member committee, headed by Md Alamgir, secretary of Vocational and Madrasa Division of the Education Ministry, for scrutinising the allegations of the question paper leak and take decision over the cancellation of examinations as per its recommendations.

The meeting was held amid widespread allegations over the leakage of question papers of all the examinations on social media sites, including Facebook, reports UNB.

The minister earlier had declared that examinations would be cancelled if the allegation of question paper leak is proved correct.
