The government is reforming a law to provide professional safeguard to the doctors and for providing quality services to the patients.
To this end, the government is formulating ‘Medical Services Act’ by repealing ‘The Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories (Regulation) Ordinance, 1982’.
Apart from this, ‘Mental Health Act” is going to be formulated replacing ‘The Lunacy Act 2012’ with the view to provide safeguards to mental health professionals and providing mental health services to them.
The government proposes allocating Tk. 233.83 billion in FY2018-19 for Health Services Division, and Health Service and Family Welfare Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
