Google Doodle celebrates Pahela Baishakh

Google Doodle celebrated Pahela Baishakh by replacing its regular homepage graphic with a special doodle featuring a colourful elephant.

According to Google's blog, the elephant on the search engine signifies Mangal Shobhajatra procession, reports Zee News.

"The procession was first organised in 1989 by the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dhaka University in order to symbolise peace and unity regardless of religion, gender, class, or age. The most iconic feature of the processions are the giant, colourful, representations of animals—like the elephant in today’s Doodle," the blog read.
