Ganabhaban dialogue ends, Kamal hopes positive results

The much anticipated dialogue between AwamI League and Jatiya Oikyafront concluded on Thursday night around 10:30 PM, according to various television channels and news agencies.

The three and a half hour dialogue, which began around 7:00 PM, took place at Ganabhaban.  

While leaving Ganabhaban after the meeting, AL Presidium Member Kazi Zafarullah said the dialogue was fruitful. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina invited all to participate in the election.

Oikyafront chief Dr Kamal Hossain says he believes the dialogue will yield positive results, as per a report on bdnews24.com.

“The discussion was good. It will bear fruit”, said Dr Kamal.

However, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said they are not happy with the outcome of the dialogue.

"There were discussions on various issues. The Prime Minister said they will sit again. I on behalf of my party can say we're not satisfied over today's (Thursday’s) discussion”’ said the BNP leader, according to a UNB report.

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led a 23-member 14-party delegation while Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain 20-member Jatiya Oikyafront team in the high-profile dialogue.
