Four ‘robbers’ die in Jessore‘gunfights’

Four alleged robbers were killed in separate “gunfights” with their rivals in Sadar and Jhikargachha upazilas of Jessore early Friday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

On information about a gunfight between two groups of robbers, a team of police conducted a drive in Nagarpur area of Sadar upazila around 2:20am and recovered bullet-hit bodies of two robbers, said Azmal Huda, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station.

Police also recovered 2 shutter guns, 2 rounds of bullet, four machetes and sharp weapons.
In Jhikargaccha upazila, police recovered the bodies of two suspected robbers, believed to be killed in a gunfight with their cohorts, from Chapatola village around 3am.

A foreign made pistol, 2 rounds of bullet and four machetes and sharp weapons were recovered from the spot, said UNB citing Masud Karim, officer-in-charge of Jhikargaccha police station.
