Four RMG workers die after falling off train roof in Naogaon

Four garment workers died falling from the roof of a running train after they were hit by a footbridge at Raninagar upazila in Naogaon.

The deceased were identified as Jahangir Alam, 19, son of Abul Hossain of Bara Hashimpur village in Chirirbandar of Dinajpur, Munir Hossain, 22, son of Mofizuddin of Chaitapara village in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur, Aminul Islam, 29, son of Abdul Latif of Malipur village in Sappahar upazila and Apel Mahmud, 26, son of Ramzan Ali of Titopara village in Boda upazila of Panchagarh, said a UNB report.

The incident took place around 4:30am Wednesday at Raninagar Railway Station, said Santahar railway police OC Akbar Hossain.

Six people fell off the roof of Dinajpur-bound Drutojan Express after hitting their heads against a footbridge  at Raninagar. Four people died on the spot. The victims could not be identified immediately.

Bdnews24 said the two injured were taken to the Naogaon Sadar Hospital.
