Foreigners in three EPZs to get separate Commissionerates

The foreigners working at Mongla, Uttara and Ishwardi Export Processing Zones (EPZs) are going to get separate commissionerates.

An official at the National Board of Revenue (NBR) revealed the information on Sunday to state-owned BSS.

"These commissionerates will be set up under the supervision of Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA)," he said.

The NBR in this regard has already asked the concerned commissioners for giving approval to the EPZs for setting up three commissionerates at these three EPZs.

The official said this decision was taken at a recent review meeting between the NBR and the investors of EPZ.

General Manager of the Public Relations Division of BEPZA Nazma Binte Alamgir said around 400 foreigners mainly from China, Japan and South Korea are working in these three EPZs and once set up, they would get duty free facilities from these commissionerates.
