The International Folklore Festival 2018 is set to begin at Mukterpara ground in Netrokona district town on Wednesday.
President Md Abdul Hamid will inaugurate the festival on Wednesday, reports BSS.
The Greater Mymensingh Cultural Forum (GMCF) is organising festival. Some folklore researchers and scholars from various countries are expected to be present at the inaugural ceremony.
Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister, also the GMCF president, Mustafa Jabbar will preside over the function scheduled to begin at 2:30 pm on the day.
President’s press secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin said Abdul Hamid will also lay the foundation stone of Sheikh Kamal IT Park at old hospital road in the district town during the visit.
Meanwhile, all necessary preparations have already been taken by Netrokona district administration with intensified security vigilance marking the visit of the head of the state.
