Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia and Shimulia-Kaorakandi on the Padma River were halted due to heavy fog.
On Daulatdia-Paturia route, the ferry services were suspended around 5 am to avoid accident and resumed after four hours at 9 am, said AGM of BIWTC Nasir Mohammad Chowdhury at Aricha.
Meanwhile, on Shimulia-Kathalbari route, the ferry services were disrupted around 2:30 am leaving at least eight ferries stranded, said Assistant General Manager of BIWTC Shah Newaz Khaled at Shimulia.
UNB said more them 600 vehicles are waiting on both sides to cross the river.
The ferry services will resume as soon as the fog disappear, he added.
