The body of a sexagenarian man was recovered from the Surma River in Golapganj upazila of Sylhet district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Sharif Mia, 60 of Phulbari East Para village in the upazila, reports UNB.
Quoting family members, police said, Sharif went to the river for taking bath around 11:00am.
As he did not return home till afternoon, his family members the matter to police, said Mizanur Rahman Mizan, officer-in-charge of Golapganj Police Station.
Later, a team of local fire service went to the spot and recovered the body of Sharif Mia from the river.
