Fire hits Tejturi Bazar slum

A fire broke out at a slum in the capital's East Tejturi Bazar area on Monday noon.

Abdur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Tejgaon Industrial Police Station, said the fire erupted in the slum behind the Karwan Bazar railway market in the area at about 12:00pm.

On information, seven firefighting units left stations for the spot around 12:25pm, sources at Fire Service Control Room said.

Of those, one unit reached the spot and firefighters are trying to put out the flame.

The official said he had no details on the cause of the fire.
