Around 400 bales of jute were gutted in a fire that broke out at the National Jute Mill at Raipur in Sirajganj sadar upazila on Wednesday.
The fire was originated at the loom section of the mill at around 6:30am and spread soon, said Abdul Hamid, deputy director of Sirajganj Fire Service.
On information, five firefighting units went to the spot and extinguished the blaze after four hours of frantic effort, as per a UNB report.
However, the cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
