A fire gutted raw materials of a textile factory in its godown in Tongi's Badam area in Gazipur on Thursday night.
Senior Station Officer of Tongi Fire Service and Civil Defense, Atiqur Rahman said the fire engulfed the cotton godown of the 'Annon Textile' factory at around 9:30pm and spread rapidly.
Six firefighting units went to the spot and extinguished the blaze after three hours of frantic efforts, UNB reports.
The deadly accident destroyed huge amount of cotton and raw materials of the factory.
