A devastating fire broke out in a multi-storied building at Konapara under Demra in the capital on Thursday evening.
The fire originated on the sixth floor of the 11-storey building that houses factories and warehouse of an energy company, it was learnt.
Later, the fire engulfed the entire building.
Some 14 fire fighting units were working to douse the fire until the filing of this report at 9:30pm, a duty officer of the Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defence, Farhadul Alam, told the FE.
No casualty was reported and the extent of damages could not be ascertained immediately.
