A fire broke out at a plastic factory at Chawkbazar area in the old part of Dhaka city, officials said on Friday.
Talking to The Financial Express, Rasel Sikder, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters control room, said the fire originated about 3:45 am at the factory inside a building called 'Noakhali Bhaban' on Urdu Road in the capital.
A total of 15 firefighting units reached the spot immediately and doused the fire around 8:45 am after a frantic effort, he said. No casualties were reported.
The extend of the damage is yet to be ascertained while the reason of the blaze could not be known immediately.
