A fire broke out at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) in the port city on Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out at ward number 16 around 10:45am, said Jasim Uddin, deputy assistant director of Fire Service.

Ten vehicles of four firefighting units are trying to extinguish the fire, reports UNB.

"The fire is under control now," Jasim said, adding that there has not been any report of casualties.

Dr Md Akhterul Islam, deputy director of the CMCH, said that the fire broke out from an air conditioner.
